- We expect students to practice the Cardinal Flight Plan. That means they are respectful, responsible, motivated, kind, and honest. We know that from time to time, we all need to be guided to make good choices to get us back on the correct flight path. With that in mind, here is a rule of thumb for my specific expectations for students.
REWARDS:
Students who follow the Flight Plan will be rewarded by knowing they have done what is right and expected of them. This will be pointed out in class. They will be celebrated for showing Cardinal Pride. A positive phone call or note will sent home. - Students who successfully complete Flask and Beaker challenges will receive prizes.
CONSEQUENCES:
- Late work will result in 11 points off deducted for the first day, 10 for the second, unless the student has an excused absence. If a student loses or does not complete the homework expectations resulting in a zero grade, the student will have an opportunity to do an alternative assignment given by the teacher. The student will have the opportunity to complete this during the school day. The highest grade achievable for this alternate assignment is a passing 70.
- To prepare for future district-wide testing and college testing, students are not allowed to talk during quizzes or tests. Classes will be given three verbal warnings. Subsequently, a student talking during a test will have their paper taken up. Students will be given the opportunity to make up the zero grade by doing an alternative assignment given by the teacher. The highest grade achievable for this alternate assignment is a passing 70.
GENERAL INFORMATION/EXPECTED CARDINAL BEHAVIOR
- For excused absences, students have one day to makeup the assignment per excused absence. For example, if they were out sick for two days, they have two days to makeup the assignment.
- Cardinals who have challenges with expected behavior will be chatted with about what the expectations are. If the behavior continues, my Cardinals will call you directly on the phone and talk about collaborating with you on a plan to create positive behavior at school. My Cardinal will let me know the plan the following day.
